Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve I spent the majority of the day baking baking and MORE baking. I did a lot of precooking. Made some homemade hot onion dip....YUMMY!!! Made homemade cranberry sauce. Beth came over and helped watch the girls while I attempted to get some stuff done.

Ventured to my dads that afternoon for the start of our christmas. We ended up getting there late which sucked but we still had a great time. The kids got spoiled rotten and had fun with their cousins.

(insert pictures)

We had a great night. Lots of fun and family.

We didnt get home until late...after 10pm. We for the life of us couldnt get chev to sleep and OF COURSE being the procrastinators we are no gifts were wrapped a few presents werent done yet AND we had a big play kitchen to put together. LUCKY US. I ended up getting mad and going in the room to cool off and i feel asleep. I woke up 3 hours later to find a very sleepy husband working on christmas gifts and a play kitchen put together. I went and "relieved" him. He feel asleep while I finished up wrapping presents. Next thing I knew it was 6am and we had plans on getting the kids up at 7am.

that makes our sleep totals 1.5 hours for Daniel....3 hours for me. SCORE!

Glendale glitters

I am going to do a BUNCH of updating but for the sake of it I will break up each update...first one......

GLENDALE GLITTERS!!!

Well Dec 20th We made our annual trip to Glendale Glitters, As always I lacked to take any good pictures. And as always it took forever to find a parking spot and AS ALWAYS i swear I will never go again because of all the people. BUT as always I know I will be back next year!

This year we went with Beth(SIL), Maddy(Niece) and Nancy (MIL) with us. It was an all around good time. We froze our butts off. I think the only really warm one was Chey....

Chev and Maddy had a good time together though...they always do.......
We did try out a new coffee shop in down town glendale...NOT GOOD.

We had a GREAT time anyway!

The great pumpkin roll scare.......

This DELICIOUS little pumpkin roll gave me a HUGE scare this morning. I was on the phone with my dad when I have another incoming call from a number I dont know. I tell my dad I will call back, I need to take this call.
me:"Hello?"
voice on the other line: "May I speak to April?"
me: "Yes this is her"
Voice...: "Hi this is Henry from Glendale Poniac....we have a problem"
me: (my heart skips a beat it sinks and starts racing and the worst thoughts run through my head, my stomach hurts!) "oh no whats wrong?"
Henry: "we have Daniel here today...(long pause and his voice sounds so concerned) ...without a pumpkin roll
me: "OMG you scared the crap out of me!!!"
Henry: "can you pack the kids in the car and bring me more pumpkin roll...it was sooo good"

I nearly killed him. It scared me so bad!!!

The past two days I sent Daniel to work with a pumpkin roll (since I made 5 of them) Apparently all the guys at his work LOVED them!!!!!!!!!

Nothing feels better then making some amazing food people LOVE!!!

a note to all mommies....

...learn from me.

If you let your baby play with your cell phone while you change their diaper. And later on you cant find your phone. There is a GOOD change it could be in their PJ's. Check there first from now on when its no where to be found.

Enough said!

Disgustingly delicious

Anyone who knows Chev KNOWS she is not big on the veggies...at all! Every so often I can hide them in food OR she will willing eat "elmo beans"...aka green beans.

I am making all homemade baby food for Chey because its cheaper, easy and good for her.

Last night I was feeding Chey homemade pureed green beans. She normally loves them but was slightly hesitant toward them this time. I asked Chev is she would like to show Chey how yummy they are "YEAH!" OK seriously...my 2.5 yr old is willing to eat green beans without me forcing them down her throat?! Ok!!!!! She takes a bite and says (insert look of disgust on face) "mmmmmmm yummy Cheyenne, those yummy!!! you eat those cheyenne" I seriously started laughing...I told her Chey didnt see her take the bite so she took another BIG bite...same look of disgust but continued to say how good they are....what an amazing big sister!!!!!

of course when i asked her if she wanted more...she decided that was enough green beans for the day.

Merry Christmas to me again

Last night was my Pampered Chef Christmas Party. Man it was fun! Kristin picked me up and we carpooled to Mesa. I wish I had taken pictures of the house it was at and the food we were served! WOW! It was catered and the food was amazing. The soup it started with was the best tasting soup I have EVER eaten. Butternut squash soup... I think I can still taste it :) Then it followed with this amazing Pear salad with spiced walnuts and cranberries...double YUM! And stuffed Chicken and potatoes and lemon bacon green beans....I think I might be drolling again. We missed dessert because we promised out husband we would leave at 8pm. I had a bunch of fun and was totally inspired by some of the other girls there. My Director had $41k in sales this year alone! WOW! Here I was excited about a $300 show! Oh well You have to start somewhere. Another girl started 2 years ago and her goal by January 2009 was to quit her job to stay home with her kids. Her last day of work is tomorrow! I am going to try hard to make this year a good one with Pampered Chef.

I walked away with lots of goodies courtesy of the Wonderful Directors from Pampered Chef

Smoky Barbecue Rub (came with recipes too!!!)

Dots Oval Platter (I want this whole set so bad!)

Stoneware Mini-Baker Cranberry (mmm hot onion dip and Spinach artichoke Dip here I come!)

Chev picked hers out and she decided chey needed the green one. I cant wait to get them. I ordered them a week ago but because they are custom made they take longer. I CANT wait to see them in person!!

cookie monster

In an attempt to TRY and get some picking up done while Daddy ran to the store and Chev was asleep I decided that Chey was ready to try a bitter biscuit...aka baby cookie. She sure did enjoy it and I think the pictures prove it

She even LOVES to try and SHARE her cookie!!!

old Family Picture

My dear friend Angela who was sweet enough to do a Mini Photo shoot with us when I was pregnant found this picture on her computer yesterday. I hadnt seen it yet. Its pretty freakin cute! It amazes me how different Chev looks. And look at my cute round belly!! I loved being pregnant with Chey. It was so much more fun that time around...BUT i must admit...I like having Chey around the house better then in my tummy! I thought this picture was cute and had to share!

in case you never saw some of the others....here are some of my favorites....these were all done in April '08

other then one more thing for my nephew and ONE thing left to buy on ETSY.com I AM DONE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stocking stuffers were finished today. I am just waiting on a few orders that i bought online. I AM THRILLED TO BE DONE SO EARLY!!

6 month check up

I took Chey in today for her 6 month check up. I laughed at the nurse who asked me if she was rolling over yet. I told her she rolls, she crawls, she sits from the crawling position AND she pulls herself up on furniture. None of which is that new of a skill! She didnt believe me until she went to weigh her and she tried taking off. HAHAHA

Dr reassured me about the rash like bumps that resently appeared on chey's legs, arms and face. Turns out her poor sensitve skin is irritated by the carpet. Luckily some good lotion should fix it soon! POOR KID! She also has her first full blown ear infection. YICKS. She has been sooooooooo happy still! So I imagine once it passes she will be happier!

She weighed in at 16lb 1 oz. (50%). She is 26 3/4 inches tall (90%) and her head is 17inches (75%)

My little baby is growing up tooooooo fast!!!

Keep Natalie and Alexis Paige in your thoughts

My best friend is in the hospital as we speak...she was admitted this morning. She is 33 weeks pregnant with little Alexis Paige. She was at work this morning when she felt like she pee'd. They are thinking her water has a leak. She is already at 3cm. Were all worried about her but I know they will be fine. They are a strong family. I just hope everyone will keep them in their thoughts and prayers

christmas shopping

Last night I went on Walmarts website to check something out and realized they had a thanksgiving day sale. I found this kitchen for the same price as the Elmo Restaurant she wanted. Only difference this one has storage space, its bigger and it got WAY WAY WAY better reviews....So i bought it. Glad I did. I came online today and it was $5o more! YICKS!!!!

I am Done shopping for Chevlynn. Just need a few things for Christmas stockings and a few things for cheyenne. BUT i know what I am getting her! YAY! Most my shopping is being done ONLINE. I love online shopping now. So much easier!

wrestling and crawling

sunday was a november birthday dinner at my dad and Angie's house. Steak and potatoes, ice cream cake for dessert. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids all got to play together. I wish I took pictures of it. Chev was acting the part of Big sister for her little cousins. She took care of "Baby Ben" as she calls him. She made sure no one closed the doors on his fingers and she seemed to always be near him, it was rather cute!

Before we went over there I had Chey playing on the floor in her room and I walked out for a second and returned quickly when I heard her laughing HYSTERICALLY...I walked in to see Chev laying on top of Chey and they were both laughing...Daniel said they were wrestling...just like daddy used to! SO cute!

Chev has newly become really attached to Chey. She tells me all the time "me want my baby sister" and she hugs her and always wants to be near her.

Chey is basically full fledged crawling...she just crawls weird. She goes from the crawling position to sitting like an old pro now. Did I mention she isnt 6 months old yet. Chev didnt do any of this until she was 7 1/2 months old! WOW my baby is growing up tooooooo quick!

random thoughts of feeling accomplished

Today I am feeling great about everything.

Yes I am sick and so are the kids but guess what...they are still happy (for the most part)

Yes I am alittle older then I was yesterday...I am also one day wiser!

Yes my house is messy....but I have some many great memories and experiences of painting with chev or rolling around on the floor with chey.
I will take a messy house over missing those days!

Yes its true, I dont have a lot of money...but I make due with what I have and I am taking the steps to improve my income...and I couldnt be happier with the path I picked...Pampered Chef is AMAZING

Yes I am new to it but my recruiter is so proud of my for booking 4 cooking shows before i even recieved my kit.

Yes i go crazy sometimes because my kids drive me nuts....but god do i love them more then anything

yes my husband drives me crazy sometimes too....but seriously...does it doesnt get any better then him...HE IS THE MOST AMAZING MAN I KNOW!! Best father, best husband, best support EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes my friends are few....but I love the ones I have. And I wouldnt trade them in for anything. I dont talk to them as much as I should....but I think about them often!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes sometimes I say I hate my job...but I have it good there and I LOVE most of the patients. I love that they know me and I know them.
I think I might work there forever!!!!

Its my day off...its MY day. And today I feel accomplished in my day and in my life.

p.s. its my 25th birthday today and I am leaving the kids with hubby tonight and going to the casino with just the girls!!!

ARRRRGGGG Siver me timbers.....

Well this was the very first Halloween Chev went trick or treating. Thanks to her amazing Nana Pink and Aunt Lay-Lee she was FULLY prepared. She was so excited. In fact here is an email Nana Pink sent to me on Halloween while I was at work

"Chevlynn is very excited about going to Halloween. She's been preparing all day. She took a shower, combed her hair, got all her toys together in her various pip or pete bags (this is how she says trick or treat) and is jumping all over the place. I can't wait til tonight! If you use the pirate costume teddy will have one, too. Allycia has a pirate costume for Earnie and it fits Teddy just right."

She truly was excited! Unfortunately....I am a BAD mommy and I forgot to take pictures of teddy dressed up as a pirate too...maybe I can redress him on Monday!? He looked almost as cute as Chev. We had a few different outfits for chey...all of which were meant for 60-70's weather...soooooooooooooo my poor baby wore a sun outfit and a halloween headband. Next year we will dress her up super cute!!!

So chev did amazing with the trick or treating until she realized her mommy and daddy slipped a movie in her bag that she has been begging for for the past few weeks...the new tinkerbell movie. As soon as she saw it she didnt say anything she just sat there and said, "me ready go home!" when we asked her why she told us she wanted to go home and watch her new movie Little turd wasnt supposed to look until we got home!! oh well!

Nana Pink helped Chev get dressed
Chey patiently waited in the stroller...eager to get going
On her way up to the first house.....
YAY that was soooooo fun...she was sooooooo excited!
Getting to become a pro
I wish this one wasnt so blurry...its my favorite!!! but she was checking out her loot!
Her Excitement shows!!!!...on to our neighborhood!
Yummmm since chey couldnt have an candy she decided her halloween bow/headband...(made by me) would taste better then nothing!

October Madness!!!

I am sitting at my desk at work right now as I type this. I swore when I started this blog I would update it at least weekly if not daily. I have failed. This has LITERALLY been a month of madness. I have actually began referring to it as OCTOBER MADNESS! SOOOOOOOOO I am going to throw together a LONG but quick so far in October update!

October 1st...Chey had her 4 month check up as I stated in my last entry. She is getting so big and started on Rice cereal. Its so funny. Some people tell me she is big for her age everyone else things she is tiny...update...she is in the 90% for her height...thats big!

October 2nd ...Daniel went on his ANNUAL quail Guys only hunting trip. This year he went with Billy (from work) and his dad. He seemed to really enjoy himself. And I had a GREAT time with just me and the girls. We did A LOT of shopping and even got Cheyenne a new PINK carseat. Her old boyish one broke. I was excited to trade it in for a pretty pink one. We got A TON of use out of her old blue one and I loved having it but god is it nice to not have to explain to people that SHE is a GIRL...not a boy!!!

October 4th...my Brothers birthday. We went to see him and took him a picture Chev colored for him...Chev LOVES uncle Paul. LOVES HIM!

October 5th...YAY Daddy came home....we MISSED him so much!

October 6th....My SIL, Beth, and niece, Maddy, Flew into town. We spent as much time as we could with them. And had blast!

October 8th...we partied with the retirement community...Beth, aunt Lay-Lee, Nana Pink And I went to the DAV for a BINGO night...I think it was very well the best time we have EVER had playing bingo!! I think we ALL thought we were gonna get thrown out on the curb for laughing soooo hard. I love when I get to spend good quality time with my amazing inlaws. I couldnt have asked for a better family to marry into!

October 11th...Natalie flew into town...YAY finally! BUT I didnt get to see her! This day we went to the park with Nana pink and papa, Beth, Maddy, and then of course me, daddy and the two girls. It was Chey's first trip to the park, HOW FUN! too bad it was sooooooo windy. I had some not so nice remarks made about nursing at the park. BUT i was fully covered and it was my first time really nursing in public. I think I did a good job! The girls all had a blast and of course it made for a great photo op! After the park we all went to dinner with Papa white beard as chev likes to call him...aka nana pinks dad! after dinner we went back to Nana Pinks house for Cake to celebrate a belated 1st birthday with Maddy

October 12th...FINALLY saw Natalie...first time seeing her in almost 3 years. We went to breakfast with her and her sister at Saddle Ranch. Was good but would have been better if our food was warm..BUT because it was cold...we got all of our meals but Daniels FREE. Didnt spend much time with Nat this day. She had family plans!

October 15th...breakfast with Natalie again...this time Starbucks and Einstein Bagels. YUMMY! Took Natalie to Babies R Us to show her the MUST HAVE'S and ways to save money....did I mention she is 6months pregnant?!

October 16th...Nat went back to Texas.

October 17th and 18th...My mom and I had our first sale. Did a good job and had a lot of fun with the girls we met. Chey went with us and did AMAZING. she didnt cry once! it was a great experience and we made alittle money too!

October 25th...did lots of shopping and running around with my mom.

October 26th...Went to the State fair with the family. It was free to get in but we still spent too much money. But the pictures I got and the excitement on Chev's face when she won a stuffed "nemo" it made it all worth it. It reminds me of those commercials...cost to park...$12 cost for 80 tickets to ride the rides and play games...$40 Cost to ride the marry go round....6tickets cost to play games......34 tickets look on your 2 year olds face when she wins a HUGE stuffed fish...priceless! Made me want to go back to the fair!

October 27th...we cut into our 65lb pumpkin just for chev to play in the goo...got some fun pictures. it was such a blast!

October 28th...as if I am not busy enough I officially joined Pampered Chef...anyone want to do a cooking show?! LOL i am super excited about it. Kristin has been amazing with helping me out!!! My grand opening is set for Nov 9th!!!

October 29th...Went to dinner at Saddle Ranch with some friends. got a bunch of stuff for free again...including a HUGE cotton candy.....chevlynn LOVED it. It was her first time trying cotton candy!!!!!

somewhere in there my bathroom sinks clogged and are currently out of order...our kitchen sink is getting a lot of use. LOL

I will update with some photos from all the events from above soon!!!

Monday, October 6, 2008

wow I got bad at this!!...picture mini update!

So I have had this blog in draft mode for almost a month!!!!...I uploaded ALL the pictures and never posted it. I SUCK!!! ANYWAY Little Miss Chey is 4 months old now! WOW She went to the Doctor on Wed Oct. 1st. She was 13lb 12oz ...puts her in the 50-75% for weight and she is 25inches which puts her in the 90% for her height. her head is much smaller then chev was. Only 16inches...50% ...chev was always in the 97+%

Poor Girl for 4 shots! here is a picture of my little trouper after her shots!

She is such a happy little girl, always full of smiles, and even happier now that she can roll!!! She started rolling a lot the day before her doctors appt.
Chev has been really worn out lately. She often times doesnt take a nap while I am at work and I find her like this when we get home. I literally walked in the kitchen to get her something and she passed out!
Here is a picture I just HAD to share
Chey i think could literally melt my heart with her smiles. she is such a sweet little girl. I love when she lets out little chey sounds of delight!!!
Chev has become such an amazing big sister. she LOVES chey now!....which is much better then when i first brought her home from the hospital!
OHHHH and with Chey's 4 month check up...we got the ok to start her on rice cereal...its an adventure that always calls for a bath afterwards!!
Chev loves it because she can finally feed Chey!!!!

big surprise...another weekend update

This weekend consisted of a bunch of nothing and a bunch of running around at the same time and somehow I got nothing done.

I woke up early Saturday morning to figure out our bills to see if we could afford to buy Daddy AC/DC tickets since they went on sale saturday at 10am. He was lucky and we could...he ended up with nice floor seats. We went online later to see that tickets in the same area were going online from other ticket sites for $500 to 1800 each. We paid $225 for two! lucky Billy, Daniels friend who is going with him, is paying us back for his ticket! He is soooo excited.

I managed to get a few hair clips made for my sale in October. I posted a few on our site. www.toadsandtutus.etsy.com

I FINALLY bought a curtain rod for Chey's room this weekend soooooo last night was her first time sleeping in her crib since it was finally dark enough in there. We managed to get 9hours out of her. What a good little girl and good sleeper.

Hit up costco this weekend too. Got a lot of stuff but managed to only spent $42! WOW good deals!

Also to update some people, my amazing aunt Linda was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had surgery last week to have it removed. Last I heard she is doing good. She is still in my thoughts often. I am hoping for a quick recovery for her. We love you Linda!!!

little toes and wake up kisses

Anyone who has been around chev knows this kid will NOT give good bye kisses for anything, she always says come back kiss! Every night without fail she gives me a goodnight kiss...that was until last night. I was nursing Chey and Chev ran out and shook her finger at me and told me, "NO goodnight kiss, wake up kiss." I told her no that didnt work for me, she turned around and told me it again, I seriously almost cried i was laughing so hard. Where do kids come up with this stuff!?

Chey has fully discovered her toes, SHE LOVES her toes. I think if she could she would hold them ALL DAY LONG, first thing in the morning as I am trying to change her diaper she grabs her toes, in her car seat she is holding her toes, its so cute and makes me smile.

Update on some drama....the mail man lost my baby's ss card. So yesterday I had to venture to the ss office. what an adventure. But it turned out to be ok. the lady there was so nice and so helpful. And my girls behaved AMAZINGLY. not to mention I had to go to a different office, this one was new and nice and not busy at all, i had ONE person in front of me. WOW

as always life isn't good, its great!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

it feels like its been weeks....

....since I last updated. Its been so busy over here.

On Wednesday Sept. 3rd I was invited to partake in a new moms discussion group at Banner Thunderbird. I figured it would be a good experience for myself and a chance to meet other moms nearby. I went and had a complete blast. It lasted two hours. I got to take Chey with me. We discussed things we liked and disliked about the hospital and ways they could improve their parents to be book they give out at your first prenatal appointment. There were 6 new moms there. All of us had babies born in May. I couldn't believe how much fun I had. And the plus side was....we got paid $50 to do it! Can't beat a good time and free money!

My best friend Natalie informed me earlier last week that she would be coming to visit in October. I cant wait. Its been 3 long years since she has been home. She is currently pregnant with her first baby...and we just found out its a girl!! YAY. I cant wait to see her.

Last night I sat listening to Chev talk...and it clicked...holy cow she is talking in full sentences now! when did that happen? Before her sentences were so choppy. Its so fun watching her develop!

I finally just finished a special order for painted letters for a kids room. It seriously took me over a week. I guess that is bound to happen when its 13 letters. and each letter needed at least 3 coats of paint! they turned out nice, very simple but nice! rumor has it the lady is gonna order more. but we will see. I am SLOWLY getting out ETSY account up and running, and I am in the process to create a myspace for our stuff as well.

Lately I have been finding myself sitting back and taking things in more often. I find myself watching Daddy play with his girls. I watch Chev play. I watch the way Chey takes in everything around her. I sat with Daddy and the girls in chev's room the other night and we all just layed in there and played and talked. It makes me see and realize no matter what is thrown our way, we have managed to get through it and stay strong. I have such an amazing famiy. How did I ever get so lucky? I think back to before I started dating my husband and I would have never expected me to be where I am today. I had a hard time seeing the good back then. I was surrounded by negative people who brought me down. I now have a hard time NOT being happy. ok ok ok enough of my babbling. I am gonna go wake up the husband and go grocery shopping!

ps i learned this week that a clean house makes an extra happy wife and mommy!!

Labor day weekend

Friday I went to the Glendale High School Marching Band garage sales. Thanks to the best mother in law out there I came home with some good finds. A new oil pressure cooker, a double boiler and some cookie sheets. YAY

Saturday little miss Chey discovered her laugh. SOOOO cute! it melts my heart much like her non stop talking does.

Chev ran around all weekend with a skeleton mask. She is to cute for her own good. I think she is ready for Halloween. I keep asking her what she wants to dress up as, every time she tells me Maddy (which is her cousin!)

Daddy had to work this weekend and went hunting with his dad. So I stayed home with the kids. I worked on some letters I am painting for a lady my mom works with. They are a very simple design but turning out very nice.

tuesdays continue........

So I recently noticed a HUGE trend in baby's being born on Tuesdays. In the past year almost everyone I know who had a baby had it on a tuesday. Mike and his wife, brandon and tabitha, Sharee and DJ, Mike and Bunmi, Sandy and her husband, and Myself, we all had babies on tuesdays (those are just the ones I can name quickly off the top of my head as I am sure there are more!). Well the tradition continued.

Hubby's cousin Jacque had her baby girl yesterday, Tuesday August 26th at 2:59am. She was a tiny one, 6lb 4oz.

crazy how things are working out but none the less congrats to Jacque and Noel and of course to Taylor and Jordan since they are new big sisters

Mothers instinct...

as I have been saying and thinking for months now, I was right. Chey's eye problem wasnt just a clogged tear duct as all the doctors kept telling me, test results came back and she has an eye infection. My poor little girl. They gave us some ointment to put on her eye twice a day for a week. Hopefully it clears up quick! Today she is 3 months old. wow I can't believe its been 3 months already, it feels like last night i turned to the hubby in bed and said, Either I just peed the bed or we need to go to the hospital. picking dirt and growing big!

Chev's newest obsession/OCD is cleaning the dirt from between her toes. We caught her doing it at the dinner table at Nana WHITEs house. WOW. She is obsessed about it. She will be playing or walking in the kitchen and just stop, sit down and star cleaning between her toes. She saw daddy do it after work when he was getting the sock lint out. I guess she wants to be like Daddy!

Little miss Chey will be 3 months old next week. I took her to the Dr on friday to have a culture done on her eye to make sure there are no infections and to find out a cream i could use on the outer part of her eye where its getting raw from always being wet from the discharge from her clogged tear duct. We found out she is now 12lb 6oz! wow my little girl is getting big FAST! she is such a sweetheart. Babbles to me all the time. And seems to be always smiling!!
